We are a dedicated group of
people working to create a
conservation burial ground in
the greater Twin Cities.

We also educate folks about
after-death options that
restore the earth.

We have come together to establish a conservation burial ground in the greater Twin Cities.

What is natural burial?

Natural burial, also called green burial, places bodies directly into the earth in a shroud or biodegradable casket. It does not use burial vaults or embalming or anything incompatible with nature’s health.

What are the benefits of having a conservation burial ground in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area?

Establishing a conservation burial ground in the Twin Cities metro area will:

Provide an option

for earth-friendly after-death care to those who want to lessen their environmental footprint

Protect & rehabilitate

critical ecosystems in accordance with conservation standards

Help people see

their connection to the land and to nature’s cycles

Bring the healing power

of nature to grieving loved ones through meaningful graveside experiences

Create a community space

to celebrate life, find peace in nature, and honor the land

. . . forever

because affordable burial fees provide conservation and care into perpetuity

We honor the land and recognize it as sacred. The place we call the Twin Cities is built on Mni Sota Makoce (Minnesota), the ancestral and contemporary lands of the Wahpekute Dakota. We honor Dakota lifeways that nurture deep relationships of reciprocity and care for the land and water.

“Anybody who attends a green burial is forever changed. Most people don’t realize that it’s a possibility — a viable, simple, and beautiful option.”
