Yes, we give talks!

We love getting out in the community and talking about conservation burial, natural burial, and other green end-of-life options. Our presenters have many years of experience with death care and burial. People tell us they’re surprised how meaningful and fun it is to learn about this!

The following are the two talks we give most often. But if there’s something else you’re interested in, please contact us to discuss. We are open to adapting our presentations to meet the needs/interests of your group. We love sharing this knowledge and helping people imagine what’s possible!

A Conversation about Natural Burial

Natural burial is among the most ancient of rituals to honor a body after death. Join this session to learn:

  • how natural burial is making a comeback,

  • the three designations of natural burial cemeteries (according to the Green Burial Council), and

  • how your after-death choices can fully reflect the values of your life.

The Transformation of After-Death Choices

How can the environmentally conscious ensure that even after death our bodies help conserve natural resources, reduce carbon emissions and protect the land? The earth-friendly choices available in the Metro area for caring for our bodies after death are transforming conventional death practices.

Join us as we discuss:

  • the three kinds of natural burial, water cremation and other ways of greening death

  • Planning tools, resources and enough vocabulary for the research needed to get your plans in order and communicate them with others

These are very important conversations but they are not only about death. This is about tending the Earth, living mindfully, and dying consciously according to our deepest values and beliefs throughout the cycle of birth-life-death.

Presentations already online

We’re pleased to share this 2022 Zoom presentation two of our members did for the Minnesota Threshold Network. It focused on natural burial and ritual and features several video clips that give you a sense of this remarkable experience.

We give talks for free.

We are often able to speak for no charge. However, many organizations or individuals have made a donation in recognition of our time, and that is warmly appreciated.  Please contact us at naturalburialmn@gmail.com for more information on how to make a donation.
